Anne Strickland Interiors was established in 2011 by Anne Strickland to emphasize the belief that a house becomes a home when there is a narrative interwoven into the design. With thoughtful selections, Anne envisions how clients will live in the space and then creates an environment that promotes the utmost quality of living.  She knows that sometimes perfection lay in the imperfections, and details are what make you look twice.

Our principles are rooted in the attitude that the most personable surroundings are those that are relatable at a very individual level.  It is with this understanding that we bring our own personal flair, and occasionally an element of the unexpected, to further promote the distinctive properties of every project.

Anne Strickland became highly aware of the profound influence of environment while attending Cranbrook Schools. It was here that she discovered how design can subconsciously elevate our everyday interactions.  Cranbrook’s strong focus on the arts, combined with the opportunity to travel to various culturally influential destinations, became the instrumental backbone in Anne deciding she wanted to make a career in interior design. From Cranbrook she went on to attend Michigan State University, where she received a BA in Interior Design from their FIDER accredited program. Graduating in the top 10% of her class with honors, Anne spent summers in Chicago working in showrooms at the Merchandise Mart and then went on to begin her career at McCann and Associates, a very highly regarded interior design firm in downtown Chicago. Moving back to Birmingham, Michigan in September of 2008, Anne went to work for Duncan Fuller Interiors, a long-time fixture in design in Metro Detroit.

In June of 2011, Anne took the opportunity to begin her own design firm, PORT Manufacturing & Design.  In 2013 Anne won Detroit Home's prestigious "Rising Star" award and has continued to win multiple Detroit Home Design Awards. In 2021 Anne rebranded PORT Manufacturing & Design to Anne Strickland Interiors to further emphasize her focus on high end residential interior design.

All the while Anne has been an avid collector of antiques and a curated selection of objects and accessories, this lead to her adding a Showroom space in March 2023. It is her hope that sourcing, staging and selling a vision will create a clear inspiration for interior design projects. And whether it be a client or person looking for that one special piece, the Showroom will build a sense of community around a shared passion for creativity and curiosity.

She lives in Bloomfield Hills with her husband, Scott, daughter Corinne, sons, Webb and Kip and golden retriever, Walter.
